AN INTERNATIONAL slide guitarist is beginning his spring tour in his home town of Northwich.

Barton man Tom Doughty is teaming up with his musical buddy Graham Bellinger to bring their fresh approach to original music and accomplished musical interpretations of blues, roots, folk and Americana to town.

Tom is one of the finest acoustic and slide players in the country and has graced international festival and club stages with his stunning lap style playing with a beautiful tone to match.

Exploiting his song writing and continuing to push boundaries, Tom has reinvented slide playing to suit his needs and develop a style unlike that of any other slide player.

Graham, who has been a mainstay on the Chester folk scene for a long time and also is a member bands like Root Chords and The Deportees, masters a diverse repertoire of original and American based music with aplomb.

Recently the pair have brought audiences to their feet with music such as a cracking version of Bob Dylan’s 'Girl From The North Country'; the powerful and hard-hitting Tom Doughty composition 'Zimbabwe' and also Tom’s 'Journey Blues', which was nominated for a British Blues Award in 2013.

The duo are about to start a spring tour of several gigs and launching their 'Campervan Tours' at Tom’s home town of Northwich.

Tom and Graham will play at Northwich Folk Club, at the Harlequin Theatre, in Queen Street, at 8pm on March 27.

They will be supported on the night by Pete Latham, who has been an acoustic guitar player for 35 years and regularly performs with his band Barrelhouse Jukes.

Admission is £8 or £6 for folk club members.
