SWIMMERS have been reassured that they will not be on view to passing traffic in Northwich's new pool.
A number of residents have raised concerns about the clear glass corner of Memorial Court, offering a view into the swimming pool for passers by and vehicles waiting at the traffic light.
Cllr Paul Dolan, from Northwich Town Council, said: "My wife mentioned the glass frontage of the pool which is very up against the road.
"We wondered about issues of being able to see young children and families in that area.
"I don't know what the final arrangement is but that could be an issue."
A spokesman for Cheshire West and Chester Council said that the window was only clear during construction of the new facility and emphasised that it will be replaced with privacy glazing.
She said: "The privacy glazing is achieved by screen printing onto the glass.
"The screen printing results in a solid dark grey colour on the bottom panes – up to 1.2m, and a graduated dot fill pattern on the next pane from 1.2m to 2.4m high – this will obscure views into the pool from passers-by and traffic on Chesterway."
