MID Cheshire College is helping to put Winsford back on the map by creating a new Business and Professional Centre at its Winsford Campus.

The college has a campus at both Hartford and Winsford, and as part of its strategy to meet the demand for high level skills it is transforming aspects of its work to meet these needs.

The Winsford campus is located at the bottom of the High Street and was built in 2010.

It is set not only to become a focal point for business support, but will also accommodate a number of the college’s higher education and adult programmes.

As part of this change some provision for 16 to 18-year-olds will be relocated to its main Hartford campus, allowing students to take advantage of the extensive facilities located at that site and thereby enhancing their learning experience.

The college has also grown its apprenticeship provision significantly, particularly in the past four years, and it is now one of the leading providers of work-based learning in the area.

It aims to build on this success by creating a new base at Winsford.

Mid Cheshire College principal Richard Hollywood, said: “The college is already a leading player in helping to support local businesses and employers, and this new centre will provide a thriving hub in which the college can take advantage of future employment and skills opportunities.

“Winsford has much untapped potential, and this move will hopefully attract further investment and the town being recognised as a key growth area for businesses.”
