GARETH Widdop is looking forward to facing some of his England team-mates tomorrow.
The St George Illawarra Dragons man, who moved to Australia as a teenager but was born in Halifax, will come up against Wolves’ Four Nations representatives Chris Hill, Daryl Clark and Stefan Ratchford.
The 25-year-old said: “I have spent time with Hilly, Ratch and Daz Clark and am good friends with them.
“It is always good fun playing against your mates. You are in camp so you spend a lot of time together. I get along really well with them, so it is good to catch up.
“I have never played Super League, so having grown up watching these teams I am looking forward to it.”
Widdop admits he had seen little of Clark before the autumn tournament, but backs the Man of Steel winner to become a star.
Widdop said: “The Super League games are not on television a lot so I had only heard a lot of good things about him, and being Man of Steel.
“He is a quiet, laid-back dude. He has got a good head and I did not realise how young he is, so he will definitely be a star of the future for England in rugby league.”
