KEVIN Penny will not be fazed by Hull FC's physicality at the KC Stadium on Friday.

The winger is likely to be pitted against 6ft 2ins, 17st Hull FC counterpart in Tom Lineham, but Warrington Wolves’ Penny insists he has confidence in his own ability.

“I only tend to worry and concentrate on my own game,” said the Warrington-born flyer. “We’ve got enough quality players around to be able to help me out should I need it.

“I’m confident in my own ability. It should be an interesting game against Hull. They had a good win against Huddersfield.

“We’ve done our homework on them and hopefully that’ll tell on Friday night.”

The 27-year-old expects a tough test after the hosts nilled Huddersfield on Super League opening weekend.

“They’ve certainly made a decent start,” he added. “We’ve said ourselves it doesn’t matter if it’s pre-season or a regular game, to nil anyone in 80 minutes is a huge achievement.

“They nilled one of the top sides so certainly made a statement.”

Penny has impressed during pre-season and against Salford, but knows there is room for improvement.

The former Swinton man continued: “We had a couple of areas in our defence we know we need to get better at and the same with the ball in hand.

“We've had a really good week’s training and feel pretty confident. We’re prepared and are looking forward to Friday now.”

Penny is also keen to keep on impressing after a solid pre-season and good performance on the opening day against Salford.

"Pre-season seems to go on forever and all you want is that first game to get underway," he said. "It came around and I thought we put in a decent team performance.

"I came up with one error but soon put it behind me and managed to move on from that."
