WEAVER Vale MP Graham Evans says he plans to address the unwelcome parking charges at Hartford Station after meeting with a group of angered residents and commuters.

Parking charges were introduced at the car park of Hartford Station at the beginning of January and residents have voiced their concern that the charges will spark an increase in cars being parked around nearby residential early.

Mr Evans met with residents and commuters at the station on Thursday, January 15, and after listening to their dismay at the introduction, he claims he plans to meet with the Managing Director of London Midland, Patrick Verwer to try to come up with a solution.

Mr Evans said: “I am aware of the difficulties this issue is creating in the area. I have written to the Managing Director of London Midland, Patrick Verwer, inviting him to meet with me to discuss the company’s decision to impose charging as soon as possible.

“My objective is to achieve an all embracing solution which addresses the charges, which are clearly unwelcome, and also the knock on effects for the surrounding roads.”

Anyone affected by the charges is urged to contact Graham Evans via his office on 01606 350 323 or by email to help@grahamevansmp.com.
