ADULT singers from Sir John Deane’s College have raised thousands of pounds for charity after joining together for a Christmas musical extravaganza.

All five choirs from the college’s adult education department took part in the annual Christmas concert on December 9 and 10, raising more than £3,000 for Breast Cancer Care.

A 200-plus audience on both nights enjoyed a number of festive favourites including Silent Night and Shepherds Chorus.

Patsy Chuter, the college’s adult education manager, said: “Our annual Christmas concert is always a delight to be part of and is a great opportunity for all our choirs to sing together and get everyone in the festive mood.

“The audience were great, and on behalf of everyone at Sir John Deane’s we would like to thank them for their support in helping us raise so much money for Breast Cancer Care.”
