CRICKET club members are being encouraged to join a lottery which has raised almost £20,000 since it was launched in 1999.
The lottery is run by Barnton Cricket Club, which has 1,200 members, and is distributing 5,000 leaflets to homes in Barnton, Winnington and Comberbach to promote the club.
It costs £1 a week to join the lottery, which raises money for the junior section at the club.
The lottery is organised by Judy Crawford, and raises at least £1,000 a year, sometimes as much as £1,500.
Many of the club members who joined the lottery when it began 15 years are still playing it.
“We would like more people to join the lottery, and we are looking for at least 100 people to take part,” said Judy.
“If any members would like to join they can contact me through the club.”
