HORSE riders are being urged not to ride across Moulton's playing field after damage was caused to the football pitch.

Parish councillors, who are also trustees for the Main Road play area, hope the hoof prints can be easily fixed and are pricing up signs to warn against riding on the field.

Phili Sanders, parish clerk, said: "Someone has ridden a horse right the way across the playing field and football pitch and there are concerns they may have damaged the pitch beyond use."

Clr Jim Clarke said: "I walk the dog there twice a day and it has left hoof marks.

"Hopefully someone from the club can take a fork and lift it back out."
