FOUR members of Hartford Golf Club went to extraordinary lengths to raise money for Northwich charity tiny Steps by trekking across the Alps.
Golfers Ant Green, Steve Nicholson, Martin Major and Gareth Eaton, trained and planned the expedition for 18 months before setting off across the snowy mountain range.
Martin said: “We experienced avalanches, landslides, blizzards and a 30 hour stop-over in a hut perched on a cliff face due to an extended white-out.
“It was a test of physical and mental strength from beginning to end for each member of the team.
“As a team we look back on our trek with pride having conquered individual limitations.
“The whole team would like to thank everybody who has supported us throughout our planning and fundraising stages.
“Our expedition would not have been possible without the help received and your donations to Tiny Steps kept us motivated every step of the way.”
As well as the Alpine trek, Hartford Golf Club held several fundraising event for Tiny Steps including a charity golf day at Hawkstone Park and all together the fundraisers notched up a total of more than £4,400.
The money raised will go towards helping provide a sensory play area for young children with additional needs.
Tim Barnes, Hartford Golf Club owner, said: "We are delighted to be able to support such a worthwhile charity and we hope this amount will make a big difference to Tiny Steps.”
