HORSES at a Northwich stables will soon be able to enjoy state-of-the-art facilities after plans for an equestrian lifestyle centre were given the green light.

Fosshey Stables in Antrobus will boast a new indoor arena as well as an outdoor arena, crew barns and a hay barn, while the extension plans will also improve owner Sandra Tinker’s farmhouse The site, on Keepers Lane, already offers Reiki for the animals as Sandra is a qualified practitioner and horse whisperer and there are plans to develop Fosshey Stables into a top equestrian facility.

Sandra said: “We have a vision for the stud business to not only breed the best but to be able to produce our young animals at home in the environment that will set them up well for future success at top level dressage.

“Our vision for the livery side of the business is one of not just offering a good local service to our loyal customer base, but to be able to offer a rehabilitation and holistic care management programme to clients from all over the north west and midlands.”

Fosshey Stables will soon offer holistic equestrian care and rehabilitation and horses will be able to enjoy a full range of complimentary treatments from physiotherapists, chiropractors and equine muscle release therapists on site.

Richard McGonigal, an architect at Equine Planning Solutions who came up with the plans for the development, said: “This project has the potential to make a real difference not just to the facilities on offer at Fosshey but also to the rural economy in this area.

“It is a well-thought out and considered plan, creating fantastic facilities for horse and rider alike.

“The proprietors at Fosshey have been placed under enormous pressure from local competitors all of which boast indoor arenas.

"I believe that obtaining planning approval for these new facilities will level the playing field and will allow Fosshey Stables to not only compete but to deliver first class facilities and services to the local equestrian community."
