BEER enthusiasts can enjoy a range of real ales from across the world alongside beers from the UK during a 17 day festival at a Northwich pub.

The overseas beers on offer at The Penny Black in Witton Street have been sourced from brewers in New Zealand, the USA, Holland, Australia, Belgium and Italy.

They will complement up to 40 beers from across the UK also being served in the pub during the festival.

Five of the international beers are brewed by women, together with two beers brewed by female brewers in the UK.

The festival runs from Friday, October 17, to Sunday, November 2.

Kevin Murphy, pub manager, said: "The festival will give people the opportunity to enjoy a superb selection of UK and international beers, many of which have not been served in the pub before.

"Seven of the beers on offer have been brewed by women brewers and I am delighted to showcase their excellent beers in The Penny Black.

"The festival promises to be great fun and I am certain that my customers will enjoy themselves."

Tasting notes on all of the beers will be available in the pub.
