TONY Smith insists he is not bothered who Wolves end up facing in the play-offs semi final next week.

St Helens have the Club Call, while many expect Warrington will end up taking a trip to Wigan.

However, Smith says he is just happy to still be in with a shot at the Grand Final.

“Whether we are picked or whether we are pushed, we don’t really care. We’re just happy to be through,” he said.

“Both teams that are options for us are going to be tough. After week one it’s sudden death for everyone. Whenever they play their next game there’s sudden death.”

And Wolves’ head of coaching and rugby will be looking for another defensive effort like the on at Castleford, something he believes won them the game.

“Defence won us the game,” he added. “We were fairly confident we would score some points later in the match having watched Cas in recent times.

“It’s been a fantastic season for Cas. They’ve been a real breath of fresh air up there challenging.

“I was pretty confident about our boys and they did a good job, really proud of them after such a quick turnaround – we had the worst draw out of all of them.

“Solidarity in the team has been good since week one. We have been united since January, it’s about putting some form together and we’ve had a pretty good month or six weeks.

“Our intensity has increased as the season’s gone on and hopefully we can keep that intensity and keep on building it and you never know how far it could take us.”
