MILLINGTON-based charity, The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, is appealing for brave souls to brave their soles by taking part in its annual Firewalk event on September 26.

This is the eighth time the charity has put on this event and it hopes this year it will be bigger than better than ever before.

Participants will undergo a two-hour training session with Firewalking professionals – Blaze – before rolling up their trouser legs for the walk of their lives – barefoot – over 20ft of glowing, red-hot embers – all in the name of charity.

They will be cheered on by their nearest and dearest who are invited to join them for this exciting event.

Individual participants will need to raise a minimum of £150 for the charity to take part, and there are special team entry rates for groups of five or more.

But the participants won’t be the only ones being challenged on the night as the charity have invited Reptacular Reptiles to join them along with a few of their creepy crawly friends. Guests will be given the opportunity to face their own fears by handling tarantulas, snakes and other reptiles but this side of the challenge is not compulsory.

Pippa Watton, events organiser, said: “This is such a fantastic event, and something I have personally done on two occasions.

"The sense of achievement you feel as you step off those coals is fabulous – you really do feel like you can take on the world.

"Blaze are a brilliant company who we’ve worked with on all of our Firewalk events, their training is second to none and they ensure everyone has a safe and fun experience.

"We really hope to get more walkers than ever before this year, and look forward to welcoming them and their guests for a bar and BBQ from 6pm. All monies raised on the night will help us to change the lives of terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from our region.”
