DANCE enthusiasts in Weaverham will be shown how to cheerlead the way the Americans do at Impulse Dance Group.

Impulse Dance Group in Weaverham is now offering Cheerleading classes led by an American professional.

Jasmine Burrows, 22, from Texas, has been cheerleading from the age of eight and represented her state in the US nationals before going on to teach at the Universal Cheerleading Association of America.

Jasmine is now living in Weaverham and will be spreading the cheer with the dance group at Weaverham Community Centre.

Rosie Burrows, founder of Impulse Dance Group, said: “You don’t really get things like this in the area so it’s new and we’ve had quite a lot of interest in it already.

“Jasmine has come and met my group and they are all in awe of her and absolutely love her accent.

“I think it can really take off and hopefully in the future, Jasmine can enter teams into cheerleading competitions.”

The cheerleading classes will start from September and will be held for all ages every Monday from 5pm to 6pm at the Weaverham Community Centre.
