POLICE have praised the quick response of fire crews for preventing serious injury after two vehicles were destroyed in an arson attack in Northwich.
At midnight on Friday, July 25, emergency services were called to a vehicle fire on Melchett Crescent Rudheath.
Fire crews arrived to find a Range Rover and van on fire in the driveway of a residential property. The fire was quickly extinguished but both vehicles were totally destroyed.
Fire Investigators who examined the scene have indicated that the blaze was started maliciously.
DC Ross Hamilton from Cheshire Police is investigating the incident.
He said: βIt was only due to the quick response from the fire crews that one of the occupants, who was in the house at the time of the fire, was not badly hurt.
βI would urge anyone who knows anything about this serious incident to contact Cheshire Police immediately on 101 quoting incident number 8 of 25/7/14.β
