THE Beech Tree in Runcorn Road, Barnton, is holding a family fun day this Sunday, August 3, to raise funds for Help for Heroes.

The event includes a bungee run, giant lawn games, a bowl-a-thon, a pocket money stall and a hog roast.

In the evening there will be a trophy presentation for the winners of the bowling and bungee run team competition.

“It’s our aim to revive the community spirit of Barnton while providing much-needed financial support for a very worthwhile charity,” said Beech Tree landlady Michelle Johnson.

The fun day is being held to commemorate the centenary of the start of The First World War.
