LITTLE Amelia Hill and her parents enjoyed a surprise “party of a lifetime” on Monday packed with fun and games.

The celebration was organised by work colleagues of Amelia’s mum Zoe, who works at Waitrose in Northwich, and was held at Pryors Hayes Golf Club in Tarvin.

Amelia, who is 21 months old, was born with serious heart defects, and underwent open heart surgery in January.

However her health deteriorated this month, and her parents Andrew and Zoe, from Gladstone Street, Northwich, received the devastating news that their daughter may have a few months to live.

They are hoping to take Amelia to Peppa Pig World and Euro Disney in Paris, and friends, family and well-wishers have donated thousands of pounds towards the trips.

Monday’s surprise party was attended by family and friends and Waitrose colleagues of Zoe, and Andrew and Zoe were told by his parents they were being taken out for a treat.

“We decided to organised the party to celebrate Amelia and to give the family another fantastic memory to treasure always,” said Vickie Griffin, a checkout supervisor at Waitrose.

“It was wonderful to see everyone pull out all the stops and come together to make the day as amazing as could be.

“Andy and Zoe had no idea what we had in store for them and Amelia, and were completely stunned when they arrived.

“They described the day as ‘the party of a lifetime,’ and the party was a huge success.”

The golf club donated the use of its wedding marquee for the event, and The Party Squad, along with Keith’s Party Time, provided the entertainment, which included music, games, prizes and soft play.

Barbs Funky events provided popcorn, candy floss and a candy buffet, and facepainting and balloon modelling was provided by Misty Moo Facepainting and Reflections Fine Art.

Cinderella from Princess Impersonations gave princess lessons, and there was a visit from Peppa Pig.

Waitrose Partner Amy Southern made a superb cake for Amelia, and Roberts Bakery donated bread and gingerbread men for the children to decorate.

More than 220 people have given to an online donations page for Amelia, gofundme.com/b4z904, which has raised £4,056 in three weeks, and includes donations of £300, £250, £210 and £161.
