LITTLE Amelia Hill’s parents have received a major boost towards a special holiday they are planning for their daughter.

Amelia, who is 21 months old, was born with serious heart defects, and underwent open heart surgery in January.

However, her health deteriorated this month, and her parents Andrew and Zoe, from Gladstone Street, Northwich, received the devastating news that their daughter may have a few months to live.

They are hoping to take Amelia to Peppa Pig World and Euro Disney in Paris, and friends, family and well-wishers have donated thousands of pounds towards the trips.

An online donations page, which can be accessed by clicking here, had raised £3,328 on Friday, less than £200 short of the £3,500 target, the total including donations for £250 and one in the past few days for £300.

The total represents 196 donations in just 10 days.

Numerous fundraising events are taking place to boost the total further, including a Great Bake Sale at Waitrose in Northwich.

Zoe works in customer services at the store, and customer services supervisor Zoe Cadman, a friend of the family, has organised the week-long fundraiser, which is for Partners, who are invited to bake or buy a cake.

Amelia’s aunt Catherine Hill is doing a tandem skydive on Friday for Ronald McDonald house at Alder Hey Hospital, where Amelia’s parents stayed while she was in hospital. Visit the link here.

Chester Gladiators Rugby Club is organising a fun day at Cheshire County Sports Club at Chester on Sunday.

The event runs from midday to 5pm, and includes a six-a-side touch rugby tournament, bouncy castle, face painting, Sumo wrestling, a barbecue, live music, games and stalls.

There is a charity race night at Winnington Park Rugby Club on Saturday, August 2 at 7pm, and The Iron Bridge pub in Chester Road, Northwich, is holding a beach party on Sunday, August 10, from 5pm to 9pm.

It will include a disco, Punch and Judy show at 5pm, face painting, a limbo competition and a raffle, and people are encouraged to come in beachwear.

Natasha Hamilton, the daughter of Iron Bridge landlady Julie Carlon, is Amelia’s godmother.

On Saturday, August 16, there is a coffee morning at Bromborough Social Club, Legion Lane, Bromborough, Wirral.
