TWO friends are running more than 80 miles in two days to help a charity get on its feet.

Martin Clifton and Roger Rayner will run from Davenham to Penmaenmawr, in North Wales, in aid of Tiny Steps, set up by Martin and his wife Laura and inspired by their little girl Connie, three.

Through Tiny Steps the Cliftons are fundraising to provide a sensory play area and social cafe for children with additional needs and their families after their own experiences with Connie showed a need in the Northwich and Winsford area.

Martin and Roger will set off at 5am on Sunday, July 27, and aim to run 43 miles before completing the route in another 41 miles on Monday.

Laura said: “We’ve never done any fundraising ourselves so I did the Leeds Warrior with four friends on June 21, which was just brilliant.

“I play netball but don’t run so I did a lot of training for it.

“Martin said ‘I want to do something as me now, as proud dad’, so he’s chosen to do something even more crazy.”
