ARTS and craft sessions have been planned for creative youngsters in Castle.

DAN Community has organised six summer holiday workshops which will run from 10am to 3pm at Holy Trinity Church.

On Wednesday, July 30, there is a session on how to draw cartoons and caricatures with a chance to make a comic book to take home.

On Wednesday, August 6, activities are based around the theme of time, including making a clock with a quartz clock movement.

Roman pottery and the Romans who lived in Castle will be the topic on Friday, August 8, with time to try the potter’s wheel.

Different printing techniques, including press print and potato printing will be explored on Wednesday, August 13.

On Friday, August 15, youngsters can learn about traditional canal boat decorations, learn about the lives of bargemen and decorate a wooden spoon and flowerpot.

The sessions finish on Wednesday, August 27, with chance to make a large 3D relief picture based on the Holy Trinity Church as well as other arts activities.

Workshops are suitable for children aged eight and above.

Admission is £10 per day.
