HORTICULTURAL handiness will be rewarded by a housing trust looking for its best gardeners in Northwich, Winsford and Frodsham.

Weaver Vale Housing Trust is holding its annual garden competition for trust residents.

Categories are best overall garden, best patio garden, best communal garden (including blocks of flats) and best independent living scheme garden. “Now winter is well behind us and spring and summer flowers are appearing we are seeing our neighbourhoods come alive with colour,” said Karen Sinclair, environment team leader for the trust.

“Well maintained gardens have a huge positive impact on local communities and the idea of the competition is to celebrate some of the best on show and reward those who put in all the hard work.”

Customers have until Wednesday, August 20, to enter the competition.

Winners in each category will receive a £200 voucher for either B&Q or Love to Shop.

To take part customers need to send in four colour photographs of their garden with their name, address, contact number, and the name of the category they would like to enter.
