9:40am Tuesday 8th July 2014

LIBRARY opening hours and other services will be affected when council workers strike for fair pay on Thursday.

Wharton and Barnton libraries will be closed all day while Winsford and Northwich libraries will shut at 5pm instead of 7pm.

The Winsford-based Education Library Service will not be open to visitors, but staff will be available to answer telephone and email enquiries.

Deliveries to schools will operate as normal.

West Cheshire schoolchildren entitled to free school meals will be provided with packed lunches if hot meals cannot be provided.

At Winsford, the Children in Care, Children in Need, and Children with Disabilities teams will be covering duty and emergencies only.

Some disruption to Streetscene services is expected.
