FLEETS of scooters will be taking to the roads of mid Cheshire this month when a popular festival returns for its second year.

The Rotary Club of Northwich Vale Royal is staging the Mid Cheshire Charity Scooter Rally and Beer Festival at Blakemere Village from Friday, July 11, to Sunday, July 13.

In its first year the event attracted scooterists from across the north west and beyond and raised thousands of pounds for charity.

Tim Henshall, from the Rotary Club of Northwich Vale Royal, said: “Last year was a huge success raising more than £8,500 for local charities, and we aim to make it even more successful this year.

“We listened to what our visitors told us last year and we asked them ‘what could we do to make it even better?’ “We have taken that feedback on board and improved the rally significantly to attract more visitors.”

The weekend includes a custom and classic scooter show, a parts and goods fair, charity and retail stalls, children’s rides, a rodeo ride and a chance to test your strength.

There will also be live music Substitiute playing on Friday night , Neil Lowe with a mixed musical selection to suit all tastes on Saturday afternoon and Ska tribute band Rudie and the Revolvers on Saturday evening.

The beer festival will run throughout the weekend with a variety of cask and keg beers alongside ciders wines and spirits.

Scooterists will also have a second chance to play the Roll a Dice competition to win the customized scooter held over from last year’s rally.

The event will raise money for the North West Air Ambulance, The Children’s Society, the multiple Sclerosis Society and Parkinsons UK.
