COMEDIANS will be raising a laugh to the first birthday of a Northwich club as it adds a second venue to its list.

The Roaring Laughter Comedy Club will hold its First Anniversary Show on Friday, July 11, at the new venue of Owley Wood Club, in Weaverham.

The club will now hold shows at Owley Wood every month and at its original venue of Witton Albion Football Club on the fourth Friday of each month.

Noel Gallagher, who launched Roaring Laughter Comedy Club, said: “I can't believe quite how successful the club has been but it has been hard work, there's always the worry that you're going to open the doors and no one will show up.

“Luckily we sell most of our tickets online prior so the early price does work.

“We've had plenty of setbacks along the way but that’s helped to make us better at what we do –we're always learning new things.

“I'm delighted with the help and support we've received from friends and family – our boy Archie now tests the microphone for me as well as passing the cables when we're setting up.

“I'd like to thank all of our customers too for their support and for sticking with us this far.

“That loyalty will be paid off in full with some of the future line-ups we have.”

Headlining at the Owley Wood show on Friday, July 11, is Greg Cook, who appeared in ITV1’s drama Prey and also headlined at Roaring Laughter’s first gig a year ago.

Tickets are £10 in advance from roaring-laughter.co.uk or behind the bar at Owley Wood Club or £15 on the door.
