A VINTAGE double decker bus has been commandeered for a trip to the past on July 12.

The Back to Yesteryear trip has been organised by St Helen’s Church as a fundraiser for the mid Cheshire charity Under the Mango Tree, which aims to build a school in Kenya.

The double decker will transport day-trippers to Deganwy, in North Wales, where they will be welcomed by a church member whose gardens run down to the sea wall.

A single decker vintage bus will then run trips around the Great Orme, in Llandudno.

All proceeds from the trip will go to Under the Mango Tree.

Tickets, priced £15 for adults and £5 for children, also include lunch.

The bus will leave St Helen’s Church at 9.30am on July 12.

For tickets and more information ring Julian on 07919 921708 or 01606 350509.

What a super idea to help such a worthy charity, this certainly gets my vote.

Please support it if you can, I'm sure you'll enjoy sitting on a vintage bus for 3 hours and going to Wales.

Has the grass been cut yet?

Don't let it get too long or you will have a devil of a job getting it back in order.

Bob Flowerdew advises that you pull the longer weeds out by hand, try to get as much root as possible.

Dandelions are the worst, they just won't go away.
