YOUNGSTERS visiting a Millington-based charity were treated to a once in a lifetime experience this week that centered on the magical world of flight.

The Childrens’ Adventure Farm Trust on Reddy Lane welcomed pupils from the Lancasterian School in Manchester last week to take part in their first ever ‘CAFT Flight Camp’.

The youngsters were decked out in RAF Red Arrows flight suits and took part in a range of flight-based activities including pin the pilot on the plane, a visit from a Monarch pilot and Thomson cabin crew before taking part in a passing out parade with help from Lymm Air Cadets.

They were also taken to Manchester Airport’s viewing park on Wednesday, June 25.

Helen Crowther, from CAFT, said: “This has been our first ever Flight Camp and we’ll definitely be doing it again next year.

“It was amazing and far exceeded even our expectations.

“The support we have received from everyone involved has been fantastic, they’ve all given their time and energy so freely and the result has been a holiday which will never be forgotten.

“We provide holidays such as this every week throughout the year and each one is different, and each week we feel privileged to spend time with such fantastic children.”

Stacey O’Sullivan, from Lancasterian School in West Didsbury, added: “The children and staff from Lancasterian have had a week filled with laughter, new experiences and memories that will last us forever.

“The children have grown throughout the week and for everyone involved it has been a pleasure to see. From all of the parents, staff, but most of all the children, thank you Adventure Farm, you’re fandabbydozey!!”
