  • "If you do a quick search online you'll also find that CTP Limited & a Mr M Vernon also own a large section of land on the opposite side of the bypass (south west of Gadbrook park) which has been identified by CWaC as an area possibly suitable for another 1,500 homes in the next 10-20 years - funny how they didn't mention that in the press release -I wonder why?......

DEVELOPERS have promised to look at all the comments from residents who attended an exhibition in putting together a major housing scheme.

Property development company CTP is due to submit a planning application for up to 200 homes on land at Rudheath this summer.

As part of the scheme CTP held a public exhibition of the plans on Thursday to give local people a chance to find out more about the proposals.

Residents spoke to members of the project team, finding out about the layout of the homes and the proposed access for cars and pedestrians, and were encouraged to fill in feedback forms.

About 60 people visited the exhibition at Shurlach Methodist Church to view the plans for a site which is located to the north of the A556, with the railway line to the east and Shipbrook Road to the north.

“We’ve listened to feedback from the community and made direct changes to our plans as a result,” said CTP chief executive David Topham.

“It was encouraging to see a good turnout at the exhibition and people having constructive conversations with our team about the future of the site.

“This project will help meet the need for housing, create new jobs and stimulate investment while respecting the site and the surrounding area.

“By keeping a good proportion of the site as recreational space there is a real opportunity to deliver an asset to the community and open up the Gad Brook woodland area as part of the development.

“We encouraged people to give us their feedback at the exhibition, and we will review every single comment. Wherever possible we’ll take on board that feedback as we go forward with the application.”

Visitors to the exhibition were shown how around a third of the site would be kept as open, recreational space, with the existing Gad Brook and the surrounding woodland maintained.

The masterplan also includes the option for a woodland walkway through the site and a children’s play area.

Following questions about vehicles travelling to and from the site the project team explained how feedback from an earlier workshop had shaped the decisions around access from Shipbrook Road and upgrades to the road.

Several measures are proposed as part of the development, including the introduction of acceleration and deceleration lanes at the junction between the A556 and Shipbrook Road and the widening of the road at key points.
