Northwich Guardian: School hosts afternoon of fun School hosts afternoon of fun

THE annual fair at Wincham Primary School is on Saturday, July 12, and runs from 1.30pm to 5pm.

The arena events include the Well Heeled Dog Club performing heelwork to music, the children from the Celtic Toes Irish Dancing group and performances from the school choir and band.

There will be competitions for young and old, food and game stalls, face painting, a tombola and bouncy castles.

The Red Lion pub in Pickmere is sponsoring the event again this year, and the Broadoak Pub Company has been thanked for its continuing support of the school.

Anyone who can volunteer any time on the day to set up or take down, run a stall or could donate a prize to the draw or silent auction is asked to ring Judith Hindley on 07712 191313 or email Judith.hindley@btinternet.com.

The Red Lion Pup t Pickmere???

I'm surprised that place is still trading, most of the little drinking dens of sort have been relegated to history.

One of the reasons is that drunken driving is now frowned upon.

The real reason is the exorbitant cost of beer. Even half of mild will set you back an hours benefit money.

Its much cheaper to get a 3 litre bottle of cider and drink it in the library.
