YOUNG footballers are kitted out in a new strip after winning a competition run by the Northwich Guardian.

The school football kit at St Wilfrid’s Catholic Primary School was 20 years old, and had Lookers garage as a sponsor.

The school team was unbeaten in the league this year, and reached the county finals, losing out in the semi-finals to the eventual winners.

The girls team, wearing the same kit, narrowly missed out on reaching the county finals.

Kevin Chambers, the father of Luke and Natasha, who play for the school, entered St Wilfrid’s into a competition run by the Guardian, and the school won a new football kit emblazoned with The Co-operative logo.
