A TEENAGER was assaulted by offenders in Northwich after demanding that he hand over money and his mobile phone.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the attempted robbery in Lostock Gralam, which occurred at around 11pm near to the Toyota Garage in Manchester Road on Sunday, June 8.
The 16-year-old victim was walking along Manchester Road, heading the in the direction of Northwich town centre, when he was approached by three men, believed to be in their late teens to early twenties.
A police spokesman said: “As the three men approached the victim, one of the offenders stood in front of him and told him to hand over his money and mobile phone, while the other two offenders stood behind the victim.
“When the victim replied that he didn′t have anything to give them, he was punched in the stomach and in the mouth, causing minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment.”
All three offenders are described as having local accents and wearing dark tracksuits with hoods pulled over their faces, so that just their eyes were visible to the victim.
The man who confronted the victim is described as white, approximately 6 feet tall with a slim build, and was wearing an adidas tracksuit. The two other men were wearing gloves.
