A PUB raised more than £2,000 for Meningitis Now with a night of live wrestling.

The Leigh Arms hosted its fourth annual charity wrestling event with 10 of the UK’s top professional wrestlers fighting it out in five matches.

Topping the bill was Little Legs, the Smallest Wrestler in the World.

Licensee Jo Higham said: “The crowd roared with laughter as he and Frankie Sloan took on the might of the giant 26 stone Colossus Kennedy.

“It was without a doubt one of the funniest matches ever seen.”

After the event the wrestlers gathered around the ring and spent more than an hour signing autographs.

The following morning Little Legs and four of the other wrestlers had to leave at 6am to head of to Skegness to do a lunchtime performance at Butlins.

The pub, which raised £2,202 for Meningitis Now, has already started planning next year’s event.
