HONEY will soon be in abundance at a community garden in Northwich.

Foundation sets have been installed in the bee hives at Grozone, which the bees use to create honeycombs.

Weaver Vale MP Graham Evans made a foundation set and placed it within one of the hives.

He said: “It is fantastic to see how much the garden has really come on over the years, I helped out during the very early stages with lots of clearing and digging and it is just great to see the fruits of all the hard work that has gone into the project now paying dividends, I was delighted to come back to help out with the bees.”

He added: “It is simply wonderful that this local project is even more accessible now that it is open six days a week, and it’s very encouraging to see so many people using the site.

“I know that it is as enjoyable a place to volunteer as to visit, and I would like to pay tribute to the organisers and volunteers that make it such a special environment.

“It is a great time for Northwich at the moment and this oasis is a little gem in the heart of our ever improving town.

“As a frequent visitor to the gardens, there is always something new to see and something to do – it is always a hive of activity.”
