A STAR studded cricket match will take place in Northwich to raise money for charity this summer.

Weaver Vale MP Graham Evans is organising the celebrity cricket match with St Luke’s Hospice, The Joshua Tree, Halton Haven Hospice and Northwich Cricket Club.

The celebrity team will be made up of well-known soap stars and other celebrities and they will face a team of MPs and Lords, including cricket fan Graham.

Graham said:“We already have some fantastic celebrities lined up – real household names who most people will know – and will be getting more in the coming weeks.

“I’m working closely with the charities and Northwich Cricket Club to organise the match, and we’re determined to ensure that it’ll be a fantastic family day out, so put the date in your diaries today.

“We’re still working on the exact line-up, and further details will be announced in due course.”

Rhys Edwards, corporate and community fundraiser for St Luke’s Hospice, said: “We really appreciate the support of Graham over the past year, from running the London marathon to organising this charity cricket match.

“St Luke’s relies heavily on the kind support of the local community and all monies raised go directly to patient care.”

The match will be held at Northwich Cricket Club, at Moss Farm, on Sunday, June 29, with gates opening at noon.

People are invited to bring picnics and chairs and there will also be a licensed bar, food stalls and ice cream.

Tickets are £5, and free for under 16s.
