VILLAGERS are being urged to come and see the detailed masterplan for a major housing scheme which has earmarked up to 200 new homes for Rudheath.

The proposed estate is earmarked for a 6.8-hectare site at Park Farm, north of the A556, bounded by the railway line to the east and Shipbrook Road to the north.

A public exhibition is to be held by developer CTP Ltd to give local people the chance to find out more about the plans, which include recreational spaces.

The display is to be staged at Shurlach Methodist Church Hall on Thursday, June 12, running from 3pm to 8pm, and will give people the opportunity to view the plans and to discuss the scheme with members of the project team.

Members of the community offered their initial thoughts on the development of the site during a stakeholder workshop which was held in April, where residents and other stakeholders took part in round-table discussions to put forward their ideas.

Since the workshop CTP, alongside partners Northpoint Developments and Hawk Group, have been developing a masterplan for the site, which will be on show at the church hall.

“The workshop was constructive and extremely valuable in helping us understand the views of local people, which we then used to develop our masterplan,” said CTP chief executive David Topham.

“Not only would our plans help meet the local housing shortage and provide new construction jobs and investment, but we want this site to become an asset to the community and one which local residents can take advantage of.

“We believe that there are real opportunities at Park Farm to deliver a balanced, well-designed project that includes areas of open recreational space for the wider community to use.

“We would encourage people to come to the exhibition, meet the team and let us know your thoughts.”

Any residents wishing to know more about the plans can call freephone 0800 170 1418, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm or email parkfarm@ppsgroup.co.uk.

Following public consultation CTP aims to submit a planning application to Cheshire West and Chester Council during the summer.
