OAK grown and crafted in Northwich adorns a classroom wall in Kenya to commemorate its opening.

Angela and Gordon Atkinson, from Northwich, are founding trustees of the charity Under the Mango Tree, which has raised money for the much-needed classroom in a rural community.

The classroom will help children from Kambe, north of Mombasa, get the chance of an education and help break the cycle of poverty.

The couple have presented an oak plaque to the school, which is made from wood from a tree grown at Marbury Country Park and donated by Friends of Anderton and Marbury (FoAM).

Pupils and staff from Weaverham High School have had the oak laser printed to mark the classroom being built in 2014 with help from Under the Mango Tree.
