BIRTHDAY celebrations at a Northwich children’s charity coincide with the 30th anniversary of National Volunteer Week from June 2 to 6.

The Joshua Tree is opening its doors to celebrate its eighth birthday and holding a series of free events and open days.

Weaver Vale MP Graham Evans will officially launch the week at the Venables Road headquarters at 10am on Monday, June 2.

The day will be an open day from 10am to 2pm for people to pop in and find out how they can help the charity.

On Tuesday, June 3, skills based volunteers can find out how they can use their skills and talents to help while on Wednesday, June 4, the focus will be on student volunteers.

Thursday, June 5, is families day when families with children from cancer diagnosis through treatment and beyond can come and find out more about the support at The Joshua Tree.

There is a double focus on Friday, June 6, beginning with a daytime session of how businesses can help and a trustee evening about what is involved.
