A CHOIR in Northwich is appealing for more men as it celebrates its second birthday.

Catherine de Haas set up the Singing Space group in 2012 so that her daughter Johanna, who has cerebral palsy, can enjoy her love of music with others.

She said: “We now have around 17 people on a regular basis and only three of these are men.

“We need some deeper voices for balance.

“It really doesn’t matter about ability, the choir is about being together, having fun singing and having a cup of tea.”

Singing Space meets at the Salvation Army, in Tabley Street, at 1.15pm every Thursday.
