MORE than £5,500 was raised with a fun day in memory of a much loved motorcyclist.

Northwich woman Zoe Goodwin organised the Ride in Paradise Sean Foden Memorial Fun Day in memory of her fiance Sean Foden, who died in a motorbike crash on the A556 in May 2013.

The event was held at Mid Cheshire College’s Hartford campus, where Sean was a member of the IT support team, and featured a motorcycle display, Vectra display, bouncy castle, bouncy slide, bucking bronco, live music from college students and a first aid display, as well as a host of stalls and games.

Mascots, including Woody and Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story, also added fun and colour to the day.

Zoe said: “It was a really good day and, dispute the rubbish weather, I think everyone enjoyed themselves.

“My highlight of the day was seeing so many people turn up for Sean, lots of laughing, smiling and just having a lovely day, and knowing all our hard work for the past nine months had paid off.

“Woody on the bucking bronco was one of the funny moments too.”

The total raised by the event is £5,711, which will go to the North West Air Ambulance, a charity that Sean supported.

Zoe, who was due to marry Sean on August 16 last year, has run a number of other fundraisers in the past few months and has also raised £3,000 through selling memorial bands, super moto naming cards, Christmas hampers and holding bingo nights.
