A WEAVERHAM councillor is preparing to enter the Great Manchester Run in memory of her pet.
Clr Gillian Edwards, from Weaverham Parish Council will run 10km on Sunday, May 18, to raise money for both the North West Air Ambulance and Cats Protection.
She is undertaking the challenge in memory of her six-year-old ginger tomcat Victor, who died in April.
“Having never done anything like this before and not being much of a runner apart from my daily one-mile run around the village I’ve set myself a real challenge here but all for the greater good to support two fabulous charities who do amazing work and are very close to my heart.”
