A RIVERSIDE run will take place in Northwich in June.

The Vale Royal Lions Weaver Run takes place on June 22 in aid of Riding for the Disabled at Sandy Lane Equestrian Centre, in Weaverham.

Two distances are available, including a seven-mile route for runners looking for a challenge and a three-mile jog.

Both routes start and finish at Sir John Deane’s College, where a hot dog barbecue and hot drinks will be available for people coming to cheer on the runners.

Participants will make their way along the river, with those on the shorter route crossing at the Blue Bridge and making their way back on the opposite side of the Weaver while those on the longer route head up to the country park by Bradford Road, in Winsford and make their way back through Moulton and Davenham.

Advance entry is £8 for the seven-mile run and £4 for the three-mile run, which includes a hot dog and hot drink at the end.

Entry on the day is £10 and £5.

The event is open to all abilities aged 12 and above.

Participants aged between 12 and 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Medals are available for the top three runners of each distance.
