SPRING fair organisers are hoping that a change of day for the event will swell the number of people attending the fundraiser.

The fair at Lostock Gralam CE Primary School is organised by the school’s Friends group, and is important in raising funds for the school.

It has always been held after school, but it was decided to switch the fair to a Saturday this year to take into account those parents who were not able to make it after school.

The fair is being held on Saturday, May 17, and runs from midday to 4pm.

There will be numerous stalls, welly wanging, a tombola, crazy golf, a barbecue and refreshments.

“We have always held the fair after school, but decided to have a change this year because people who work in the week cannot make it after school time,” said Friends secretary Lynley Woodward.

“The fair is a major fundraiser for us, along with the Christmas fair, and everyone is welcome from the community.”

The Friends group is asking for raffle prizes, and if anyone can help please call the school on 288004 or call in.

The Christmas fair raised £750, which was doubled to £1,500 under the Barclays match funding scheme.
