MID Cheshire College is putting students in the picture with a competition for high school pupils.

The college is running The Big Picture competition, and the winners will receive a framed version of their winning picture and the chance to join a photo shoot with college students and staff.

The competition has two categories, pupils in years nine to 11 and sixth formers, and a winning photograph will be chosen from each.

The winning photographers’ schools/sixth form will also receive a framed copy of the photograph and a prize to support photography at the school/sixth form.

Students can enter up to three photographs of the subject of their choice such as portrait, landscape or buildings.

A team of judges led by college principal Richard Hollywood, staff from the college’s photography department and the Northwich, Winsford and Middlewich Guardian will choose the winners.

The prizes will be presented at the private show evening of the art and design end of year exhibition, and the winning pictures will also be on display at the exhibition throughout June.

Deadline for entries is May 26, and students should email their pictures, marked with their name, year group, school/sixth form name and a contact number, to photocomp@midchesh.ac.uk.
