A SENSORY garden and vegetable patch have been created at a Northwich school thanks to a team of volunteers.

Students with learning difficulties from The Russett School can reap the rewards of work by 30 employees from Barclays, in Gadbrook Park.

The project has also been supported by Northwich suppliers, Buildbase and Weavervale Garden Centre, who have provided materials at discounted prices.

This is the third year that staff at Barclays, Gadbrook Park have worked with the Russett School on gardening projects Catherine Lewis, headteacher at the Russett School said: “The sensory flower bed and vegetable garden project is now complete and it looks amazing.

“It will enable all students to further participate in learning outside the classroom.

“I am very grateful to the employees at Barclays for their support and for volunteering their time, skills and resources.”
