YOUNG people are being recruited for a course that will set them up for the future.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service wants to recruit a team of 16 to 25 year olds from the Northwich area to take part in the next Prince's Trust Programme.

The programme, which starts on Monday, May 12, is based in Northwich and is a 12-week course giving young people chance to learn new skills, complete qualifications and gain greater self confidence.

Tamsen Lesko, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service Prince's Trust project co-ordinator, said: "This programme is designed to help develop young people's skills and confidence through practical community projects and work experience.

“The primary focus here is team work within the community which supports our local neighbourhoods.

"Experience shows us that 80 per cent of all graduates from the programme have gone on to achieve things as a result, this includes getting back into, or going forward into, education or gaining employment and training."

Hazel Crampton, project manager, added: "The programme is all about helping young people meet their full potential.
