A NIGHT of live music will be held in Northwich on Saturday to raise money for a much-loved charity.

The second annual St Lukefest will take place at Winnington Park Recreation Club, in Park Road, starring five mid Cheshire bands that promise a lively evening.

The first event in May 2013 raised more than £1,700 for St Luke’s in memory of organiser Colin Tolley’s father-in-law Bill Lorimer.

Colin, from Lostock, said: “Everyone knows someone that’s been in St Luke’s.

“It’s an amazing place that does amazing work and anyone that’s had any connection with it has nothing but positives to say about it.

“We approached a few local bands and had an absolutely amazing night.”

Bands playing on Saturday include the Jam Town Rockers, House of Cain, The John Colins Band, Salt Rox and a last minute addition of The Penguin Incident.

Colin said: “Jam Town Rockers are a proper rock band and do rock the way it should be played, loud and proud.

“House of Cain are bluesy rock and do all their own stuff.

“Ourselves, the John Colins Band, are just out for a good time and getting everyone dancing.

“Salt Rox are a new band and are gathering quite a lot of momentum.”

Tickets are £5 in advance or £6 on the door.

Colin said: “Where else can you get five bands for a fiver – its £1 a band – and we’re all good listening bands.

“People that come will have a great time.”

Doors open at 7pm.

Tickets are available from Macks Music, at Northwich Indoor Market, by ringing Colin on 07943 811840 or Naomi on 07983 543861 or emailing stlukefest@gmail.com.
