GUARDIAN readers are invited to vote for Stacey Body, who is up for Best Vintage Blog in this year’s National Vintage Awards.

The awards ceremony in Birmingham in June celebrates independent businesses which keep the vintage scene alive.

“I’m delighted to be up for this award,” said Stacey, originally from Barnton, who has a vintage blog at www.StaceyStitch.com.

“I’ve worked so hard to build up my blog, and to have national recognition would be amazing. I’d love for everyone in Northwich to vote.

“I started my blog in May 2013, and what I wanted to do more than anything was make my own clothes.

“I love vintage, but can’t afford to buy the pieces I love with the huge price tags. So I thought , why not make my own? My mission is straightforward – making sewing simple.

“I hope what I write is interesting, helpful or at least entertaining, and in my blog you can find items I have made for myself and others.

“One of the first projects on my blog I made was a late 50s wrap dress, and I always get complimented when I wear it.”

Voting takes place online at www.thenationalvintageaward.co.uk throughout May, and to vote for StaceyStitch go to the Best Vintage Blog page.
