VANDALS have destroyed a bird feeding station at a Barnton beauty spot.
The station, at Saltersford Locks, was smashed sometime between April 14 and 22.
Naturalist Dave Harazny, who discovered the damage, said: “This is the second time things have been smashed over on the island on the other side of the locks at Saltersford.
“They must have been there for a while as the wood had four 5in nails in it and two metal brackets to hold it in place.
“What goes through their minds when seeing a piece of wood put there that we use for the birds when we work down there is beyond me.
“I suppose it’s ‘We’re bored so we will take our boredom out on a piece of wood because its there’.”
