A NEW club is being set up at a Northwich woodland to help little ones get closer to nature.

The Nature Tots Forest School is being organised by Cheshire Wildlife Trust for children aged between two and five years old.

Sessions engage children within a woodland setting, with hands-on activities and games to help youngsters interact with the sights, sounds, smells and textures within the environment around them.

Robyn Moseley, Forest School practitioner with Cheshire Wildlife Trust, said: “We’ve had great success with our Forest Schools for older children in other parts of the region, and we wanted to replicate that opportunity with a younger audience here in Northwich.

“Marbury Country Park offers the ideal safe and secure environment for the groups, and also boasts a wonderful array of wildlife which always sits at the heart of any Forest School.”

The first group will take place on Tuesday, April 29, and will then run every Tuesday during term-time.

Each session will last around an hour and children must be accompanied by an adult.

The initial taster session is free, with each session then priced £3.50 per week.
