COMMUNITY-MINDED youngster Mark Evans spent 10 hours helping to paint railings in the Barnton basin.
The 10-year-old, who is a pupil at Barnton Community Primary School, was part of a team of 50 people working on the facelift.
He had three breaks and had arm ache the next day as a reminder of his efforts.
He had taken part in the painting day with his gran, adding: βIt was good to do so that people can see the railings more clearly, and I would do something like it again.β
